Hello lawyers! With the cancellation of SXSW yesterday, and everything else I am reading on how we here in the US are dealing with/preparing for Coronavirus, I have a greater understanding now on some of the things that we need to be prepared for and I am writing to share them with you. This message has nothing to do with the actual physical health impact of Coronavirus, as I am not a doctor, and can't interpret the information that's being shared re physical risk other than to say I'm washing my hands more often, and high doses of vitamin C, zinc and elderberry are my go to right now. Please keep your own immunity up in all the ways you know how! This message is about the greater virus, which is the mind/media virus, that will impact you and your community no matter what. The mind/media virus is what you need to be prepared for and face as a leader in your community. This is a huge opportunity for you to step forward and educate your community about how to prepare for crisis and face mortality, which is your job all the time, and now more than ever. Here's one thing we all know for sure: Death is coming. Whether from Covid-19 or something else, death is coming. Use this time to live your life full out, knowing that you can’t run from death. You can only live as if you might die tomorrow. Now, more than ever, people are facing their mortality. It is our job to help the people in our communities face their mortality with preparedness. We are all going to die, so the best thing we can do is live as if we might die tomorrow. Not just now, but always. So, if we are helping people to live as if they might die tomorrow, one of the things they must do is get their planning in place. You are in position to provide that planning. And what you may want to be considering now is how to educate your communities virtually, and how to help them with their planning virtually. In service to that, @Bonnie Bowles and I will be hosting a training sometime in the next two weeks that is specifically focused on how to use webinars to educate your community virtually, and we'll include training on how to deliver your services virtually as well. We'll keep you posted on the date and time for that training. And, if you are a Personal Family Lawyer or Family Business Lawyer member and not already in our NLBM Social Media Marketing Support Group on Facebook, come on over now, so you can see how other members are using social media to educate their communities, so you can get inspired to do the same. This is a member's only benefit, so talk to your Law Business Advisor if you are ready for membership, and upgrade to join us. If you are not ready for membership yet, just keep working on your next steps of getting your own plan done + taking two practice clients through the FWPS process, and you can look forward to educating your community, when you are ready. Please use this thread to share any thoughts, concerns, fears, opportunities, etc. you are seeing related to Covid-19/Coronavirus. We are here to support you to see this challenge as an opportunity to be as healthy as possible in your life and law practice, and to be in service in your community. With care, Alexis
