  1. Hello lawyers we love, As perhaps may have been expected, I am wanting to let you all know that we are going to be moving our in-person training in September (which we call C4, which stands for "Creating Connection through Conscious Communication") to a virtual event! More information on this will be coming soon. In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more and get yourself on the priority notification list for when we have more specific details to share (including how to enroll), please go ahead and email support@newlawbusinessmodel.com. Of course, please feel free to ask any questions you may have as well. AND, if you think you may want to attend, please go ahead and block off the dates September 23rd - 26th on your calendar now. I look forward to seeing many of you at the event! Warmly, Allison
  2. To our wonderful NLBM Members, This post is about Meet Fireside, and working with outside vendors in general. --- For those of you who are not yet members, you probably don’t have any context for this message, so I am reposting it with a little background: Once you are a member, we give you many resources to do your marketing (both online and offline) and we recently shared with our membership about an outside vendor that one of our members had been having great success with. Upon doing so, many of our members signed up with this outside vendor; some have had great results, and some have had not-so-great results. And so this message is in service of supporting our members (as well as you members-in-training) with working with outside vendors. To be clear for those of you who are not yet members: do not yet contact Meet Fireside (or any other digital marketing agency, for that matter) about working with you on your marketing yet. I initially intended this message to go just to our members, and made a mistake in the forum I posted it in, so I am wanting to be specific here that it is not yet time for you to hire a marketing agency. Until you have access to all of our marketing resources (and our support and strategic guidance to make the best possible investments of your resources), it is not the best use of your time, energy, attention and money to hire any marketing agency. It is in your best interest to stay focused on completing your program, your own plan, and serving your first two practice clients. Then, when you are ready for membership, you will have access to all of our marketing resources + the support you need to hire the additional implementation support you may want to get your message out into your community. You may or may not want to work with outside vendors in the future, when you are ready to market your services. If you are already working with outside vendors in other capacities, feel free to read on should that be of service to you. Otherwise, we encourage you to keep your focus and energetic investments on your next immediate steps -- your own plan + your two practice clients. --- For our members: First, in case this isn’t clear, I’m wanting to clarify that Meet Fireside is not an official NLBM service. We shared them with you as a resource after hearing about their great results for Pam, and vetting their price point against the small budgets you all shared you had and were willing to invest for online marketing. At $500/mo and a willingness to run very small ad budgets, they are the least expensive option out there, and a great way for you to learn what works, what doesn’t, test, and improve over time with least cost out of pocket. Now that so many of you are working with them, Ali and Bonnie have been donating their own time to work with Meet Fireside on your behalf as a gift to the membership and because they are so committed to your success and shortcutting your learning process. But they cannot eliminate your learning process. Having said all that, I’m aware that several of you have expressed some unhappiness in working with Meet Fireside, and I’m genuinely sorry that has been the case. We want nothing more than your success. I know Meet Fireside has been a fabulous and valuable resource for many of you as well, and do believe that is possible for the future, especially as Ali and Bonnie continue to work with them to support them in creating more systems + infrastructure to serve you all. Again, please note: Ali and Bonnie are doing this at no financial benefit to them or NLBM whatsoever, other than that we are always looking at how we can leverage economies of scale for you to lower your costs of learning and implementation. Given this, the intention of this post is to clearly communicate that: Meet Fireside is not an official partner of NLBM We cannot guarantee results from Meet Fireside If you do choose to move forward with Meet Fireside’s services, or even inquire about their services, we want to support you doing that in the best possible way and with proper expectations. There’s more to say on this, but for now, I want to offer that with all vendors you bring on, including Meet Fireside, it’s extremely important to understand what you are paying for, what’s reasonable and what to expect. For all that to be true, you need to ask tough, direct questions that support you in discerning if and how this vendor will be able to meet your needs. In this case, with Meet Fireside and other marketing vendors, good questions might include: What exactly does my monthly ad management fee cover? How do you choose which audiences to run my campaigns to? What do I need to have set up on my end to really benefit from your services? What systems and infrastructure do I need to have in place to take full advantage of your services? Will I have an opportunity to review campaigns before they are launched? Is there a deadline by which to get change requests to you? What percentage of the time do your campaigns launch on time? What happens if I have a campaign that does not launch on time? I heard “XYZ” about your services from others - what might you say in response to that? What kind of regular communication can I expect from your team? Should I expect any other costs? What happens if I’m unsatisfied with any campaigns or aspects of your service? Do you have a contract that outlines the expectations we’ve discussed? As always, if we can support you on this front or otherwise, please don’t hesitate to let us know. To your success, Allison Director of Member Services & Lead Coach
  3. Hello lawyers we love, As you may have noticed (and I hope you have!), we're working very hard over here to be churning out valuable content for you to support you in making the shift to building your virtual practices! And, no one knows better what you need than YOU! So, here's my curiosity: What can we make for you next that would be most valuable? I'm thinking of things like training videos, templates, how-to guides, free reports, follow up sequences...etc. There's no shortage of possibilities, but we'd love to focus on what's most valuable first. So please, share your thoughts below! We're all ears. And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to bring those here too. To your success, Allison
  4. Hello lawyers we love, I am excited to let you know that the recordings from our Virtual C4 Training are now available! You can find them here. When you watch/listen, please consider bringing your questions to our Communication Skills Forum so you can really make the most out of your learning. I'd love to support you there. To your success, Allison
  5. Hello NLBM lawyers! This article got mentioned during our leadership team meeting today, and wanted to share it with you. May it be of service to YOUR service that your communities need so much. https://www.barrons.com/articles/the-coronavirus-has-americans-scrambling-to-set-their-estate-plans-here-are-some-key-things-to-know-51584875701
  6. Hello NLBM members, I am super excited to let you know that we have officially launched our newest support resource for you, our NLBM Members-Only Social Media Support Group! We created this platform for you, our wonderful lawyers, so that you can: connect with each other, learn from each other, share social media best practices and tips & tricks, follow each other, and perhaps most importantly, request support from each other in the form of likes, comments and shares when you are putting your social media marketing and educational content out there into the world! Here’s the link to join. (Please note this group is only for our PFL and FBL members). Please note that this platform is NOT a place to get support from our NLBM team and coaches. If that’s the kind of support you’re interested in, your best bet will still be to post here in your Member’s Forum, and/or bring your questions to a group coaching call or to your private coach. We know that venturing into the social media space can be daunting, and we want to help make this transition for you as easy as possible. If there’s anything further we can do to support you on this front or otherwise, please don’t hesitate to let us know - you can simply reply here or email us at support@newlawbusinessmodel.com. Happy social media-ing!
  7. Hello lawyers we love, I am SUPER excited to let you know that we have selected the dates for our 2020 C4 (Creating Connection through Conscious Communication) events! Both will be held in beautiful Boulder, CO. The dates are: March 18 - 21, 2020September 23 - 26, 2020 If you want to grab a spot at one of these events (there's a maximum of 24 attendees at each event so we can maintain the intimate 2:1 facilitator to participant ratio) go ahead and email support@newlawbusinessmodel.com to learn about next steps and get on the priority notification list. And, make sure to mark your calendar!! The enrollment page with much more information will be available shortly. In the meantime, if you're curious about what kinds of outcomes you can expect from attending, here's a taste: “We’re trained to issue spot, come up with various options, and give our recommendations. What we miss in that is actually building a connection with our client… Building a relationship of trust & connectivity... This is life changing.” - Hector “I took a leap of faith that it would help… I felt like I always had one wheel stuck in the sand... I don’t feel that way anymore. It’s like a piece of the puzzle I just couldn’t seem to find before.” - Stan "I just met myself" - Beatrice If you have any additional questions or if any other support would be helpful, please don't hesitate to email us at support@newlawbusinessmodel.com. I look forward to seeing you in Boulder in 2020! To your success, Allison P.S. - YES, you can bring your CSD!
  8. Hello lawyers we love, Thanks to our ability to slightly increase our capacity for our in-person training this September (we call it C4 which stands for Creating Connection through Conscious Communication), we have been able to open up two more slots! The training begins at 5pm on Wednesday, September 18th and wraps up at 7pm on Saturday, September 21st and takes place in the Boulder, CO area. If you think one of these slots is for you, head on over to our enrollment page and get yourself registered (you can also learn more about the training and hear from past participants on our enrollment page as well). If you would like to speak with me directly to get clear on if coming to be with us in September makes sense for you, feel free to email me at allison@newlawbusinessmodel.com or post here in this thread. I have no doubt this training will be an absolute game changer for you. I'm so confident, in fact, that if you join the 22 other NLBM attorneys who are attending this training and don't feel like you've gotten your money's worth, I'll refund 100% of your enrollment fee, no questions asked. Any other questions, send 'em my way! See you in Colorado, Allison
